Cervical Cancer Screening
A cervical screening test (previously known as a smear test) is a method of detecting abnormal cells on the cervix.

The State of Caring Survey is the UK’s most comprehensive research into the lives and experience of carers. Last year it was completed by over 7000 carers.

The Edge Berkshire
The Edge offers a non-judgemental and confidential service for young people up to the age of 18, who have drug or alcohol concerns, living in West Berkshire. The Edge is a really friendly environment where young people can feel relaxed and safe. The Edge is in Newbury town centre, but a worker can see young people at school, home or anywhere else they feel comfortable.

First Contact Physiotherapy
First Contact Physiotherapists (FCPs) are advanced practitioners working within primary care with extensive expertise in the clinical assessment, diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions. FCPs see patients with (suspected or diagnosed) MSK conditions as the first point of contact, instead of a GP, and can be accessed directly by contacting the practice’s reception.

Little Blue Book of Sunshine
Teenagers across Berkshire West are getting help and tips on dealing with mental health problems from a ‘Little Blue Book of Sunshine’.
The book, which has been commissioned by the Berkshire West Clinical Commissioning Groups, has been delivered to every secondary school in Reading, Wokingham and West Berkshire for pupils aged 14 and above to keep and refer to whenever they are feeling blue.
Recovery in Mind
Recovery in Mind is a social enterprise set up by Angela Ryan, an ex patient, who recognised the need for a Recovery College in West Berkshire. A Recovery College runs peer-led education courses and training programmes for people who suffer with mental health problems.

Dementia Friendly Film Screenings at the Corn Exchange
The Corn Exchange are piloting two dementia friendly film screenings this year. Dementia Friendly Screenings are designed to meet the needs of people living with dementia, their carers and families.
The number of young adults diagnosed with fibromyalgia (FM), a condition which causes widespread pain and fatigue and loss of productivity, is steadily rising. We wish to survey amongst local practices and the West Berkshire area.

The West Berkshire Council is developing its local plan and Vision for 2036.
There is currently a consultation on what this Vision of our area will look like in 2036 and it will influence the plans and direction of travel of policies for the council, which will impact on us as local GPs, our population and of course those of us who live in the area.
This questionnaire has been created to assess services available to people living with dementia in our local communities. Your answers will help us to understand how effective services are, what kind of difference they’re making, and how we can improve them.

Postnatal Depression Support Group
Did you know that 1 in 8 women face depression and anxiety symptoms during pregnancy and up to 2 years after having a baby? You are not alone! This group is for mothers to connect with other mothers for support. The group provides information, support and tools to make you feel like you again.
